It is with great sadness that we announce, in Georgetown, on Tuesday September 29th, 2020, Shawn Simmons unexpectedly passed away at the age of 34. Shawn Simmons, will be forever and lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 17 years Jessica Harris. He will be sadly missed by his parents John and Diane Simmons, his beloved brother Daniel, his father and mother-in-law Neil and Erika Harris, his brother and sister-in-law Megan and Aaron Harris and their daughters Addison and Averie, and Grandparents Donna and Charles Simmons.

I dont even know if there is enough space in this box to explain of how hard this is, or of how much we loved each other, and just how unreal this still feels. I still hear you singing away to KISS songs at night. I still check my phone for any messages from you during the day for when you would send me random stories and videos to make me laugh. I still feel your arms around me giving the best hug ever and wiping away my tears when I was upset. We used to say I fit perfectly under your chin like we were made for each other. There’s no words to describe of how unfair it is that we never got to finish our love story. I will cherish every laugh, giggle, dance, smile, kiss, love songs of ours and sock changes.

Jessica, we are so sad that your heart is breaking. The love that Shawn had for you is something that can never be taken away. Hold on to that and know that he is there with you always.
Shawn recently said to us, “Thank you. Because of you and Erika, I have the greatest woman / wife / best friend that God could have blessed a person with.”
We are honoured and blessed to have known Shawn, although for such a short time. To know him, was to know that he really was a kind soul. We shall miss him dearly.
