From the first day I met her, Ruth made me feel welcome to her family. Years later I would like to express that Ruth was a wonderful example of grace and kindness and she was never too busy to say a kind word or lend a helping hand. The kind of woman who stops to ask a small group of strangers walking down the road, if she could offer them a glass of water, and years later for those people to come back every single year since, by the 100’s, to rest on the front lawn of Ruth’s house, to take her up on her kind, simple offer from years ago. Anyone in this case could afford to give as Ruth did, but most would not even think to offer, nor would many of us even stop to say hello to complete strangers today. She will be missed.
