
Gray, Ronald Francis (Ron)
With extreme sadness we announce the passing of Ron, at age 76, of Loretto, Ontario, formerly of Halifax, on Friday November 1, 2013 at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville, Ontario, after a lengthy illness. Born at Halifax on July 1, 1937 to the late James W. “Battler” Gray and Ellen Louise (Dell) Gray, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ina Lorraine Gray (Smith) formerly of Halifax, two sons Ronald Jr. and Derrick, grandchildren Kyle, Ryan, Kathleen, and Stephen,and his great grand daughter Lyla. Also he is survived by his sister Marion Kelly of Kingston, Ontario, brothers James, of Halifax, Cyril of Mississauga, and Arthur of Kingston, Ontario and predeceased by brother Thomas.
He was a lifelong employee as a checker with the International Longshoremen’s Union on the Halifax waterfront and also the Toronto waterfront, where he was well known and enjoyed many personal friendships. He enjoyed his retirement in rural Ontario and could always be seen at leisure working on his home.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, visitation will commence at 11:00 with service following, at Rod Abrams Funeral Home Limited, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, Ontario.
A reception to follow will be held at Tottenham Branch of the Canadian Legion
