Peacefully at Simcoe Manor Nursing Home Beeton, on Saturday February 24, 2018. Bubs Crumbie in his 90th year; beloved husband of Irene Crumbie (nee: Hopkins). Loving father of Rick (Bonnie), Linda Kirby, Donnie (Debbie), Carol (Wayne Littlejohn), Bobbie (Cindy), Kathy (Greg Marcus), Ron (Jamie), and Randy. Loved grandfather of Christine (Rob McCarthy), Richard (Kenzie Snache), Bryan (Sarah Desjardins), Tyler (Krista Wade), Darren (Debbie Kirby), Crystal (Chris Palbiski), Jimmy (Cindy), Jenny (Brad Hansen), Trevor (Adam Sheridan), Coraleigh (Bryan Parsons), Robert (Alyea), Jason, Tina (Gerry Thibaudeau), the late Sean Ratray, Kait (Ryan Flahire), Tanner, Cody and Ashley. Dear great grandfather of: Logan, Ally, Emma, Alexander, Regan, Wyatt, Dakota, David, Danika, Cole, Payton, Aidon, Kylie, John, Bree, Tayte, Hudson, Emmett, Addison, Fallon, and Fionn. Predeceased by his brother John “Jack” Crumbie (the late Betty), and his parents Robert and Alice Crumbie. Forever in the hearts of his “step-son” Leo McGinty, and all his extended family and friends.
Resting at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477 on Tuesday February 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9pm (with a Legion Member Service being held at 6:45pm). Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday February 28, 2018 at 11am. Cremation to follow. Donations in Bubs memory to Simcoe Manor Beeton, or the Beeton Legion Branch #421, would be appreciated by the family.

Whether the ‘go-for guy’ when you were catering or “the site Inspector” when I was putting up the greenhouse or doing work around the store, Bubs always had time to chat, give advice and tell a story, but he always knew when it was time to go home because Irene had his food on. In a small town Ontario guys like him who knew everyone, their children, what was going on but had time to share a pint or chat are what made a Community’s legacy. A lot will of nice will be said about him but it would be great if some of the new “in the know” could learn from his simple leadership the grace of genuinely being engaged in life.
