BROOME, Rita Eileen
After years of struggle with Lewy Body Dementia, Rita answered God’s call, accepting his invite home.
Surrounded by her loving family at Matthews House Hospice, Rita passed away peacefully on November 4, 2022. Rita (nee Donnelly), was the much loved wife of 54 years to Kent Broome (d.2019) and her legacy lives on in her children; Anita (Dave), Corina (Dave), Jacinda (Chad), Quentin “Chum” (Tina). Mamma to her 10 grandchildren; Brooklyn (Nate), Victoria (Mark), Katelyn, Maggie (d.2003), Ben, Lily, Bridget, Ronan, Aidan and Quinn, to whom she gave her laughter, love and undivided attention. Great Mam to Easton, Halle & her newest soon-to-arrive great grand baby. Beloved sister and constant companion to Catherine Horan (Charlie), and Tom Kearns (Lisa). Rita will be dearly missed and fondly recalled in stories shared by her extended loved ones, including the Broome, Donnelly & Quail Families, as well as her inherited grandchildren Jazzlin, Sylvie, Hannah & Sadie. The family will receive condolences at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham on Wed Nov 9, 2022 between 6-8pm, with funeral service Thurs Nov 10, 2022 at 11:00am. Rita and Kent were neighbours for many years. The girls were part of the IGA GANG, and Rita was a fixture in the Pharmacy, resulting in a smile or a wave almost every day.
