On behalf of my brother and sisters in Holland I send you our sincere condolences with the loss of your mother and oma ,our tante Nelly. What they remember most from her visits to Utrecht, is her outgoing personality and her laughter.
As for me, I still have very fond memories of the weekends I spent in your home in Palgrave some 45 years ago. The many cups of coffee and the nice talks we had. She always made me feel welcome and at home. I will always remember her spontanious nature and humorous outlook on life. May she rest in peace.

My sincere sympathies to Greg & Ann with the loss of your dear mother. She was always such a warm & bright presence every day. Your parents were lifetime friends of my parents (Hank & Enes Van Bemmel) and that friendship was always cherished. Her energy was boundless and her laugh infectious. She will be greatly missed. Greg and Ann, sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. No matter what age we are our mom is still that special person who brought you into the world and that connection is so special. She will be in heaven now knowing that for many of her 88 years she had her children, grand children and great grand children to share and enjoy life with. Nellie, so many times I climbed that mountain in your front yard. I’d run from the first court to your house whenever I needed to escape. How many games of trouble did we play while I drank God knows how many mountain dews? Or watched wheel of fortune when I visited on my way home from school. Our trip with mom to webbers and chalk river all those years ago. Your ready presence after Dad and your love of my ever changing hair colour. I will miss you so much, Nellie. I can hardly believe you’re gone.
There are so many memories that will never leave me, and in this way you will also never leave me.

To Nellie’s family, I send you so much love. She was amazing, but you already knew that. May your days be filled with love and remembering and joy for the life she lived. May you find comfort in the stories of others and in your own memories.
