Devoted mother of Joan Rosslyn Aird Barsevskis and Diana Jean Aird, and their father Paul Leet. Loving grandmother of Mark Paul Aird Barsevskis and Peter Karl Aird Barsevskis. Dear sister of Jean Elizabeth Murray, John Albert Murray, and sister-in-law of Joan Aird Jacobsen, Barbara (Lane) Aird, Zena (Lukianoff) Murray and Joan White. Aunt to Betsy (Peter), Susie (Clifford), Mary (Chris), Sandy (Elroy), Kathy (Tim) and Peter (Andrea) and many other extended family members and friends. Margaret’s home was always a gathering place for family, friends and grad students.
Margaret graduated from Macdonald College of McGill University in 1953 and practiced as a dietician at a Cornell University women’s residence. She was a committed volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, Breakfast Club Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, St. George’s On-The-Hill Church and the University of Toronto. Margaret loved meeting with her bridge and book groups, Etobicoke Quilters’ Guild, Canadian Federation of University Women, the University of Toronto Women’s Association and the University Arts Women’s Club.

A visitation will be held in St. George’s On-The-Hill Church on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 12 noon, followed by a funeral service at 1pm and a reception in the church hall. Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham 905-936-3477.
