Eckhard Albert Hermann Dittmann
It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Eckhard Dittmann, in his 90th year.
Beloved husband of 62 years to Hilde (nee: Both), father to Christine and her husband Hugh, Opa to Michael and his wife Nancy and Great Opa to Kylie and Emily.
He was born in Altfalkenberg Germany to the late Erna and Walter Dittmann; brother to Manfred and pre-deceased by his sister Krista and brother Bodo. Dear Onkel to Jürgen, Bibi, Wolfie, Kristoff, Martin and Michael, all in Germany, as well as Frank and his wife Margaret and Arleen and her husband Gary, in Canada.
Dad was a hard worker, a great family man, smart and very funny. He loved fishing, travelling, cutting grass and spending winters with mom in Florida, after he retired. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
While he had many health struggles, over the years, he faced them all with courage and strength and incredible positivity.
Dad, you will be forever missed by all who knew you.
The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham, (905-936-3477) on Monday March 24, 2025, from 11 am-noon immediately followed by the service. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Cliffside Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

Liebe Hilde, liebe Christine und Familie,
mit tiefem Mitgefühl haben wir vom Verlust Deines Ehemannes Eckhard erfahren, liebe Hilde. Euer Vater, Opa und Uropa hat diese Erde verlassen und hinterlässt eine schmerzhafte Lücke.
Auch hier in Deutschland trauert sein Bruder Manfred mit Ehefrau Ruth um seinen Bruder. Trotz der Entfernung bestand immer ein enger Kontakt zwischen den Brüdern.
Wir trauern mit euch und wünschen euch in dieser schweren Zeit viel Kraft und Trost.
Die Begegnungen mit euch bleiben uns in bester Erinnerung.

I still remember our parties in the summer back in the 70’s and all the weddings we celebrated at together. I still remember clearly your fathers sense of humor!!!
