Peacefully with his loving family by his side on March 28, 2024, at Matthews House Hospice Alliston. Daniel Banks in his 86th year, beloved husband of 60 + years to May Banks (nee: Wilson). Loving father of Lynne Ford (John), and Mark Banks (Carolyn). Dearly loved grandfather of Dustin, Heather (Cody), Derek, Mack (Kristina), Maggie, Charlie, and great grandfather of Morgan. Predeceased by his sister Laura Meikle (the late Robert). Forever in the hearts of his extended family and friends in Scotland, Canada, and USA.
Daniel was born and raised in the small town of Bathgate Scotland in 1938. He graduated from school at the age of 15 then became a skilled electrician. In 1960 in served in the Royal Air Force for two years in Aden (Yemen). While traveling abroad, he explored Africa and told stories to this day about his adventures there. Known as a keen swimmer, table tennis and badminton player, he was also competitive at whist. And, with the right company, he was always up for a good game of dominoes. He loved every moment spent, both near and far, with family and friends.

A Celebration of Daniel’s Life will be held at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477, on Sunday April 7, 2024 from 1-3pm, with a time of Family Spoken Remembrances at 2pm. When I think of Uncle Danny, I think of his smile. He was always smiling and laughing. Happiest being surrounded by his family, or watching the ‘Gers’ win, or throwing someone in the pool. I feel lucky to have known him and have so many happy memories. My love to Auntie May and all the family in
