Peacefully at Matthews House Hospice Alliston, on October 20, 2022. Carl Stockman, in his 102nd year enjoyed a long and full life. Born in Tavistock, Ontario November 5, 1920 he was one of six children born to the Reverend Dr. Otto and Anna Stockman. He graduated from Queen’s University Engineering in 1948 and began a long and fulfilling career as a consulting engineer working nationally and internationally.
Carl married his beloved Jean (Hoult) in 1948 and they raised five children in their home in Toronto and at their summer cottage in Georgian Bay. He was actively involved in all of his children’s activities but his love was for hockey.

Carl will be greatly missed by his family, very close friends and neighbours and many acquaintances. He had many helping hands to help him achieve his wish to live independently until he passed. The family would like to especially acknowledge and thank Shirley and Jim Hanrahan for their many years of incredible support and companionship to our Dad.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. For those who wish to honour Carl, donations to Matthews House Hospice would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

Our sincerest condolences to the entire Stockman family. We were blessed to have your Mom & Dad as our neighbours when they moved to the 4th line over 30 years ago. Your father was a wonderful man who had a zeal for life like few others. He was always on the move, a hard worker, a great conversationalist, quick to smile and had a laugh that would fill a room. For a man who was so accomplished, he had the unique ability to connect with all those he met. Carl was a great friend and a true gentleman. He will be missed.

Our sincere condolences to all of Carl’s children and their families on the passing of their beloved father. Carl was a very warm, kind, and caring person who never seem to age. Carl was a great neighbour and he gave me my own Apple tree. Carl and I took some day trips up to Markdale to visit a mutual friend. All we have of Carl are great memories. May he Rest In Peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear of the passing of this wonderful man. Carl was a very thoughtful gentleman. We had many life discussions that often turned eventually as to how to make his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs a better team. He also had many kind and sincere words to say about his family. He worked hard late into his life on many technical projects and his technical knowledge was vast. Carl will be missed by many. Condolences to all who knew him.

Our sincere condolences to all of the Stockman children and extended family. Your father was a special person and a great friend. His genuine personality and good nature was such that your father left a positive impact on all people that he met. As once stated by Chuck Palahniuk an American writer/journalist ” the goal in life is not to live forever, the goal is to create something that will”. Your Father more than achieved that with his verve for life! Your Father will be missed and forever remember.
