Maggio: Antonio,
Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at his residence in Palgrave, on April 12, 2024. Antonio ‘Tony’ Maggio at the age of 94 years, beloved husband of 63 years to the late Gina Maggio (nee: Manzon). Loving father of Albert (Elaine), Lawrie (Christine), and Lynnie (Pierluigi DeBiasio). Grandfather to Toni (Ryan Neff), Daniel, Lauren (Scott Smith), Leslie (Zach Arthur), Connor, Nicolas and Julianna. Great Grandfather to Grace and Parker. Predeceased by his parents Maria (nee: Gargarella) and Umberto Maggio. Dear brother of the late Nicola, the late Iolanda (the late Nick Bruno), the late Dora Rinomato, the late John (Marilyn), Phyllis (the late Al Yanuzzi), Tina (Bill Trueman), and Ray (Glenda). Remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Sadly missed by Charlie ‘Pussy’ the cat.
Tony lived a life illuminated by simplicity, integrity, and profound connections. His journey was defined by cherishing life’s humble pleasures: a fine glass of wine, the warmth of shared meals, the camaraderie of discussing weather, and the tranquility of nurturing his garden. His passion for soccer was unwavering, finding solace and excitement in the beautiful game.
Renowned for his unwavering honesty, steadfast integrity, and tireless work ethic, he cultivated enduring bonds in both personal and professional realms, ensuring the welfare of his beloved family and fostering countless friendships along the way. His laughter was infectious, his humor boundless, and his vitality belied the passage of time. Possessing a wealth of knowledge, seasoned wisdom, and boundless compassion, he stood ever-ready to offer support and guidance to those in need. In the tapestry of his life, he defied the constraints of age, remaining youthful in spirit and action until the very end. Though he may have left this world, his legacy of kindness, wisdom, and joy will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. We take comfort knowing he is reunited with the love of his life in our Heavenly Father’s embrace for eternity.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Eleiza, Dr. Meghorey, and the entire Team of caregivers for their love, support, and the wonderful care that was given to our father.
