Peter joined his heavenly family while surrounded by his girls in Matthew’s House Hospice. Born in Leicestershire, England, he immigrated to Canada with his parents Stuart and Stella Wright in 1960. He spent his adolescence working alongside his father building and maintaining the McMichael Art Gallery in Kleinberg. It was there that he met the love of his life, Darlene Eldridge. Peter and Darlene settled in Beeton where they raised their daughters Amanda (Johan) and Amy (Nathan). They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary September 14th, 2024. Peter was a friend to everyone who met him. He loved being “Gramps” to Solomon, Wyatt, Gideon and Lacey. He loved cars: fixing them, driving them and watching them race. He loved music, history and fishing, but most of all people. Peter was a genuine people person, loved by all.
We wish to express our deepest gratitude to his care team. Amanda his PSW, Mary Jo his Nurse, Dr. Jansen and most of all everyone at Matthew’s house. We will miss him forever.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.
