It is with deep sadness we announce the death of our beloved patriarch, Peter David Tushingham, 69, of Schomberg, Ontario, who passed away on July 6th, 2023 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He leaves behind his wife, Wendy Tushingham, and their three children, Emily MacPherson (John MacPherson), Ian Tushingham (Samantha Mansour) and Neil Tushingham, granddaughter Josephine MacPherson, sister Jane Shoquist (Gord Shoquist) and brother James Tushingham (Margot Tushingham).
Peter was born in Toronto, Ontario on May 19th, 1954. He married the love of his life, Wendy, on July 1st, 1990 and they settled in rural Schomberg to raise a family. Peter was a hard working man who dedicated 20 years to the Simcoe County District School Board as a Project Coordinator. His title at work permeated his home life, rarely allowing a moment where he wasn’t working on a home project or diy activity. While Peter was a man who always kept busy, he never missed an opportunity to be there for his children, constantly offering loving support and many words of wisdom. He will be remembered for his integrity, intensity, meticulous nature, love of family and kindness towards animals and also for the gentle tenderness he reserved especially for his precious baby granddaughter, JoJo.
Cremation has taken place. A United Church memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 5:30pm at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 116 Church St. Schomberg, ON,

It is with great sadness that I learned of Peter’s passing just today,
I was his Dental Hygienist for many years. Each visit brought great conversation about all his home projects and an update about each of his children. He was a genuine, kind, family man. Wendy and Emily my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I will truly miss our visits. Peter was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Peace be with you.

Wendy and Family,
I am so sad to learn that Peter has gone. When I think of Peter, I recall his forthright approach to life and his dry, wry humour which still makes me smile after all these years. My thoughts are with you. My deepest condolences.
