OLDFIELD: Barbara “Pauline”
Peacefully, surrounded by her family, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Mackenzie Place, Newmarket in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Fred Oldfield. Loving mother of Suzanne (Howard) Thorn, Kathy Baker, Rick (Karen), the late Chuck (Lynne), and Jeff. Cherished grandmother of Rob, Ryan and Ray Young, Sandra Lynn Baker, Jason Oldfield, Trisha Adams, Mike, Megan, Colleen and John Oldfield, Amanda Mosher and Shaun Oldfield and her great grandchildren Rachel, Graydon, Logan, Katelin, Autum, Avril, Drew, Sullivan, Beckham, Henry, Mykaila and Kallum. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, Phyllis Oldfield and predeceased by her parents Hugh and Barbara (nee: Benson) Walker and brother the late Robert “Bob” (the late Phyrn) Walker. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by her extended family and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude for the care and kindness shown by Mackenzie Place, Newmarket. The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham, 905-936-3477 on Friday, November 16th, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of memorial service, in the chapel, at 11:00 am. The Thomson girls (Robin, Janet and Joan), and our families are so sad to hear the news that your mom has passed away. Polly was a life-long, dear friend to the Thomsons. If only our parents could all have done one more cross Canada convoy! Your mom was one of the best. A true friend who’s wit and wisdom was legendary. We have all enjoyed conversations with Polly over the years and we are all better for it. To visit her during the days she was so loyally and lovingly caring for Fred was to witness true devotion in action. A trooper and a saint all in one. I hope our parents have found each other behind the Pearly Gates and are planning their next road trip.
