
Myrna passed peacefully, in her 81st year, at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Orillia. Predeceased by her husband of 58 years James Richards Macey, her sister Jerinne (Robert Porteous), and brother-in-law Gordon Macey.
Survived by her sister Ina (Ken Crowe), sister-in-law Janet Macey, her children Sean (Ann Marie) of Cambridge, Lauren (John Heisz) of Orillia, and Kevin (Nicola) of Sudbury, and much-loved grandchildren Devon, Jonathan, Paris, Jorja and Cole.
Myrna and Jim were married Jan. 10, 1959 and settled in St. Catharines. In 1963 they moved to King City, where they spent most of their married life.
Myrna loved children and worked for decades for the King City Cooperative Nursery School. She will be remembered by many “Blue Bears”. She later worked for the Catholic School Board as an educational assistant to special needs children.
Many thanks to Myrna’s dear friends : Dorothy Z., Mary E., Heather B.(her fairy godchild), Patty A., Mary A., Pauline C., Lorna H., and Brent M., for their friendship, love and support provided throughout the years, particularly since January. She will also miss her Special Olympian Bradley. She was very proud of you and cherished your achievements.
An additional thank you to the doctors: Dr. Anand, Dr. Babock, Dr. Bhatt, Dr. Conn, Dr. Lobsinger, Dr. Max, as well as the entire staff of Champlain Manor, and nursing staff of Harvey Four, SMH Orillia.
As per Myrna’s wishes, her body was donated to the University of Guelph for scientific research. The compassion and assistance shown by Nina, Prem, Bob B., and H4 during this process was greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life for Myrna and Jim (Mom and Dad) will be held on Sunday July 22nd, 2018 from 1 – 4 pm at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham, ON, L0G 1W0, 905-936-3477, www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.
