I am heartbroken to hear the news of Mrs.Dodd’s passing. Recently I was thinking about trying to get in touch with her to let her know how much of a wonderful impact she had on my life. In particular, I owe my love and passion for reading to Mrs. Dodds. In fact, this is how I found out about her passing. I was looking her up on google. She was my school librarian when I was growing up (25 years ago) and she always shared the new books with me as soon as they would come in. “A Handful of Time” by Kit Pearson in particular. I have such wonderful memories of her putting books aside for me and the excitement she would have to share them with me. My favorite time in elementary school was getting to the library where we would sit on the blue carpet and Mrs. Dodds would read to us. Always engaged and interested. I am so sorry for your loss and that I missed the opportunity to let her know how truly special she was to me.

James, please accept my sincere condolences on the sudden passing of your Mom. Perhaps you can get some small comfort in knowing she was out and enjoying life and friends when she passed. Being active late in life is not something everyone is granted and good health to be able to do that is a blessing. May she rest in peace.

We were shocked to hear of Marilyn’s untimely and tragic death. She was an inspiration to us in our book club, motivating us to read books we more than likely would never have read. Marilyn was wonderful taking ladies who didn’t drive to the opera, plays, and appointments. She will be missed.

Jamie we are all devastated after hearing the very sad news about your Mum. Marilyn was one very busy lady and enjoyed keeping life. It was Marilyn who guided me when I decided to enter my first flower show. She was just as pleased as I was when I won a ribbon. When Marilyn retired she told me she had joined a few clubs to meet people & keep busy. Well, we all know she sure did keep busy & had a very interesting life. We will miss all the chats we had with her at the mail box & at the Horticultural Society meetings. Jamie your Mum was a great lady & she was admired by all who knew her.
