Peacefully at her home, in Brantford, on Wednesday February 11th, 2004. Karen, in her 20th year, beloved daughter of MaryLee. Loving sister of Amanda and her husband Yuri Pravota. Loved and fondly remembered her 2 nephews Cody and Samuel Provota and her niece Meghan Pravota.Predeceased by her grand parents Frank and Mary Black.Sadly missed by her aunts, uncles, many cousins and her extended family at the Brantwood Centre.
The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936-3477, on Friday February 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Patrick’s Church, Schomberg, 10:00 am Saturday February 14th, 2004, followed by cremation.

As I write these words, it’s with a broken heart, My baby sister was someone truly special, she had a smile that could brighten a room, a laugh that was contagious, and a heart that was larger than she, and for someone who always looked so tiny to me, she was very strong. I have always admired Karen for her strength, that too was contagious. Her triumphs were miracles, I admired that as well. Karen had the most wonderful sense of humour, and for such a little girl, who strength and will was tested each and every day, you could tell with a glance, she always found a bright side, something good, and something to smile about. Karen was a very smart young lady, and even though she was very much trapped in herself, she found ways to give others hope. Karen and I were in a lot of ways like any other siblings, we had our moments where we just couldn’t agree, but for the most part, we had a very special bond. We shared giggles, gossip, and secrets, candy and lip balm, and when she looked up at me, I could see in her eyes, she always understood, and I am certain that sometimes she saw me. I am truly blessed to have you for my sister Karen, but am honoured that we were more, we were great friends. Karen will be forever cherished, and greatly missed. Good-bye Carebear. I Love You.
