John enjoyed a career in Finance, working for a handful of Bay Street’s more prestigious firms, where he was known for his analytical and innovative thinking. John was generous and charitable by nature, and enjoyed giving back to the community through volunteering for organizations like Habitat for Humanity. John lived every day to its fullest. He enjoyed travel, meeting new people and building many lifelong friendships. He was an avid reader and accomplished golfer, fisherman and trap shooter. John, Jane and their loyal dog Par were fortunate to spend their winter months in Naples Florida amongst some of their most cherished friends. Ken & Eleanor Stevenson says
Jane & family. We knew the Eidt family and remember John as he was growing up in Merlin. John’s parents Fred & Dorothy were an important part of the Merlin Community for many years. Fred taught us and was the principal at Merlin District High School when we attended in the 1950’s. We remember Dorothy and her talent as a pianist. John’s sister Elenore was a year ahead of us in school. We are also thinking of Elenore and her family. John obviously had a very successful career and his parents would have been very proud of him.
