Peacefully at Matthews House Hospice Alliston, on Wednesday April 11, 2018. Jim Galloway in his 75th year, beloved husband of the late Barbara Galloway. Loving father of Jim Galloway Jr., and Jodi (Joe). Graystone. Dear grandfather of Keely Galloway, and Maxwell Graystone. Sadly missed by his siblings: Ian Galloway (Kathy), Suzanne Gagne (Roger), Jennifer McCarthy (Steve), and the late Karen Lahaie (the late Wes), and his sisters and brother in laws: Dan McElroy (Bev), Roberta Mitchell (the late Bob), Jim McElroy (Judi), and Dianne Foster (Earl). Forever in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A Memorial Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday April 21, 2018 from 6-10pm at the Tottenham Legion (25 Richmond St. E Tottenham), with a time of spoken remembrances at 7pm. This eve,July 5,2018… the tribute to Jim on TVO took me back possibly thirty five years when I designed an addition to his house on Berkeley St. The entire reason for the addition was to provide space for rap sessions in his basement.
I am honored to have been part of his history.
I remember him as a kind and compassionate soul.

I Remember the first time meeting Jim and Barb at a neighbourhood skating party at the Beeton Arena back in 72. Jim came across as a down home friendly kind of guy. We also found out we were neighbours on Alexander St. and we soon became good friends. As a Lion, as a friend, as a electrician,as a member of the community you could always count on Jim to give a helping hand. We will miss Jim as we miss Barb. The good thing is they are both together again. Our condolences go out to Jodi, Jim Jr. and family.

We are saddened by the loss of Jim Galloway: The Family Man, the electrician, the Tottenham lion, the turtle and friend. Always a smile, always a gentleman. Our memories of Jim and his beautiful Barb started back in the 70s. We all enjoyed fun years where there was always another event to fundraise for. – to build a community center – for fire department equipment – for the Lions Community work – or great fun events like the river rat races at Bev Ney’s place in Upper Thompsonville. Another nice guy gone.. but not forgotten.

We are all sorry about this great loss.I too remember both Jim and Barb at the old Lions building dancing and enjoying each other, which never stopped.He taught me how to wire a plug in our bathroom,such a talented man.

Jim Jr. and Jodi, sorry to get the phone call from a friend that Gentleman Jim has passed away. He and your mom were such a part of the Tottenham community fabric.From the 70’s to his passing he was that Country Electrician who had all the time in the world to chat, help, count eggs in the ‘Egg Club’, support the Lion’s Club and offer his electrical talents.Soft spoken, philosophical in a down home way with his ‘let’s have a brew and talk about that attitude’. By definition he was a true friend to those who knew him and your mom and a very proud family man. Tottenham might be a bit dimmer now with his passing but the lights of heaven will always be shining. He is with your mom again and both will be watching over the family now.
