Bruno Conzelmann
July 31, 1937 to December 17, 2024
As a result of complications from Parkinson’s disease, Bruno passed away peacefully on the morning of Dec. 17th with his loving family by his side. He is greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Britta. Also feeling the huge loss are his sons Bruce (Debbi) and Roger (Helen). Opa was an amazing grandfather to Chris (Cheryl), Scott (Erica), Jeff, and Nicole (Griffin). He was delighted by the addition of great-grandchildren, Colton, Olivia, Carter and Mathew, to the family.
Bruno was born in Tailfingen, Germany. He emigrated to Canada, at 20 years of age, with what he could carry in one suitcase. Having earned his machinist papers in Germany, he continued his career here in Canada. He met Britta in English classes in Toronto and very soon after they were married. In 1971, Bruno and Britta began their own machine shop, with one Bridgeport milling machine, in the garage of their Pottageville home.
Through their unbelievable work ethic, the support of many wonderful employees, and a culture based on mutual trust and respect, B. C. Instruments Inc. grew to be a very successful global business. Together they enjoyed many wonderful years in their home in Pottageville, where Bruno tended the most beautiful gardens. They retired to the Briar Hill community in Alliston, where they made many new friends. And finally, they moved to Delmanor in Aurora, where they settled very comfortably. Bruno and Britta enjoyed walking every day and had a long-standing game of Rummikub on the go.
In his last moments Bruno struggled to find the words, but said, “There are no better words than thank you for the years of friendship and support.”
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home Tottenham. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com
