VERMEER; ANTJE (HONINGH).
On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, Antje (Honingh) Vermeer (aged 93) passed away peacefully to be with her beloved husband, the late Dirk Vermeer (Jan. 27, 2003); loving mother of Rev. Cory Vermeer-Cuthbert and Winston Cuthbert, Marlina Vermeer-Korittko and the late Ulrich Korittko, and Gary Vermeer and Astrid de Groot; very proud Oma of Rory and Thomasina Cuthbert, Cassandra and Brianna Vermeer-Korittko and Lina and Levi Vermeer; oldest sister to Geertje, Jake, Jenny and Gretha and the late Willem and Jan; well-loved “nicht” to many in the Netherlands.
Antje was an avid member of the Women’s Institute in both the Netherlands and Canada, a member of the United Church of Canada, the Caledon Singers and the Vaughan Historical Society. She was a skilled and prolific needle worker; we all enjoyed her hand-knit socks; she was always a front row enthusiast at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Alliston, never missing a concert or church service; she happily sang along – “Let me call you sweetheart.” In Mom’s honour, donations may be made to the Tottenham United Church building fund or to a charity of your choice.
Visitation at the Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, Ontario on Friday November 29, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Service of Celebration of Antje’s life to be held on Saturday November 30, at 11:00a.m. at the Tottenham United Church, 26 Mill Street East; Brian Nicholson officiating. Interment immediately following the service at Mt. Tegart Cemetery. www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com

Dear Marlina, Cory and Gary and families
Our sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom. I was just thinking of her the other day and remembering when she taught crocheting and wished I had taken it up. I can still hear her voice in my head when she answered the phone, what a very nice lady. I am sorry I could not attend the funeral services at Rod’s but Leslie just called and it is 11.27 AM Saturday.
Sincerely, Joan and Paul Burbidge and Family.
