In Memory of David Rae “Dave” Sealy.
At the age of 83 years, On September 15, 2019 we said goodbye to a man who loved skiing with friends, loved the rocks and trees of Georgian Bay, loved art, loved playing hockey, loved being involved in the community, and loved being connected to friends and family. Dave’s smile and gentle laughter will remain in the hearts of his children Beth (Craig), Michele (Martin), and Craig (Garth), his cherished grandchildren Natalie (Jessey), Neil and Ian, and his joyful great-grandchildren Jaxon and Emmett. He is deeply loved by Jean and Jim Small, Diana Sealy, his nieces and nephews, all his extended family. His smile and sense of fun will be missed by Jim and Darlene Sealy, and his many friends, both old and new. Dave is pre-deceased by his loving wife Joan Sealy (McQuay), and his brother Paul.
Dave was born in Toronto to Ron and Blanche Sealy. They moved to Montreal, where he spent his youth. After graduating from McDonald College, Dave moved back to Ontario, working at Canada Packers in Toronto, and then on to become Vice President of Borden Metal Products in Beeton. Dave retired in 1997, but always felt a deep connection to Borden Metal and his friends there.
Visitation will be held at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477 on Friday September 20, 2019 from 11:30am until time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 1pm. Interment will be held in Trinity Cemetery Beeton. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Alzheimer Society Canada, Prostate Cancer Canada, DA Jones Library Beeton, or a community charity of your choice.
The family will be forever grateful for the exceptional care Dave received while at Tiffin House.

Shocked today to learn that Dave passed away. We roomed together in Mimico when he first met Joan. We had many laughs and fun times over years.
Dave was a very generous person on all levels and was a very important supporter cancer research in Ottawa.

As a rinkrat, I vividly recall, in the early sixties, first seeing a new guy from Quebec on the arena ice playing with the Beeton Intermediates.
Dave soon earned respect with his geniality, kind smile and generous nature. We enjoyed old-timer hockey trips with him and his humorous storytelling. Sadly miss him but not the memories.

I was so sad to learn of Dave’s passing. We were friends of Chris Jefferies and Dave was part of the “Toronto crew” as Chris referred to them.
