I’ve known Lisa for over 20 years having first met her through work, even reporting directly to her when I joined the IT team at Cedara. Sharing a love of many things, including 80’s music, dancing, and sushi…we became great friends. Our children, Ben and Julian, have grown up together and are best buddies. I have so many wonderful memories of BBQ get togethers, camping trips, playdates, girl night sleepovers, going to Hannu’s cottage, going to concerts, and dancing the night away together. I’ll be forever grateful for those times and will miss Lisa dearly.

Lisa was a valued work colleague of mine twice, and her ability to remain calm and positive as she learned new things while bringing order to novel situations was amazing. It was always clear that her family and especially Ben was her most precious priority and a source of great joy. It is so sad that she lost the battle. It is so unfair. To all of her family and friends, please accept my deepest condolences.

Dear Lisa:
The first time we met was at the ball diamonds. You were so friendly and holding your camera. Talking with you was such a joy. Ben was your sidekick as you went around taking your amazing pictures. Aqua fit was great therapy for many of us who joined you at “Splashy’s”. Your smile and energy was like the sunshine, warm and inviting. As you continue to shine down upon us, may family and friends find peace and strength in their memories. You will be missed beautiful angel.

You will be missed at the diamond and at all my events and shows. Until next time, keep an eye on all of us because we will need it.

Lisa, I can’t believe you’re gone. You were such an amazing woman who was always there to help anyone in need. Your love for life was just through this world even when you were dealing with cancer. You still made it out to events because that is who you were, you were a person who uplifted a lot of those around her and set the mood just right. I remember you helping me out that one late night when I had to take off the London and I needed a sitter for Sumaiyah. I still have this video of Ben and Sumaiyah that you took and the pictures. I will cherish every memory we have together and I will definitely miss seeing you around the ball diamonds! Fly high my friend until we meet again <3

My dearest Lisa Marie,
We had gotten much closer these last few years with our quiet friendship. Sharing many laughs and of course, some tears. I am so honoured that we could be there for each other fighting this damned disease that decided to take up residence in our bodies without our consent.
You were my rock! My inspiration. My hero. My fellow warrior. My confidant. And the best friend I could have hoped for. I will keep fighting because you want me to. And because we were determined to show Cancer who is boss. F&$K CANCER!!!
You will always be in my heart
Rest easy, my dear sweet Lisa, Rest easy.
My sincerest condolences to Ben and the rest of her family and friends. Hold the memories tight.

Lisa was an amazing person full of life and love. She had a love for baseball and supported the league at every game. She was very proud of Ben and loved watching and taking videos at his games. She had the strength that not many people have to do her best to carry on with life and give Ben everything her fragile body could give. She wanted to make the best of the time she had left. She was the life of the party and made sure she took a selfies with everyone. She was the selfy queen. Lisa will be missed by many, may she rest in peace. My heart goes out to Paul and Ben as well as the rest of the family.
