The first time I met Shannon, it was for the meet the grad students at the University of Windsor, where we were both students. She was waiting outside the double doors that lead to the school gallery for the event. She was peering in and I asked if she was one of the new grad students. She looked relieved, we introduced ourselves and I said, let’s go into the gallery. We became fast friends.
She was a generous colleague, gifted artist and technician, an advocate for visual artists, and wonderful human. I will miss everything about Shannon, her kindness, generousity, her witty humour and her smile that lit up her eyes and face. Thank you Shannon, for making me a better artist, community member and person.
My heartfelt condolences to her husband, family, friends, colleagues and everyone who was fortunate to have met her.
