My condolences to Roy’s family. I first met Roy back in 1961 when working at Thistletown Hospital and Roy was one of the drivers. He was a friendly type of guy who loved to chat. I left Thistletown and lost contact with Roy for a number of years until one day shopping at the local supermarket in Tottenham I Roy only to find out we both lived in the area. Our friendship was formed again and we had many friendly chats in the IGA, at church functions or at the Friday night suppers at the local Legion. Roy will be missed by many people, especially his friendly attitude and sense of humour.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Roy’s passing. My memories of him are that he was funny, kind an dpatient. He and Aunt Marion spent the better part of a summer teaching me to water ski on Pigeon Lake. I was not a natural but Uncle Roy taught me not to give up on myself and he hung in there with me until I was finally able to find my way. What a wonderful lesson to teach a kid! Thanks Uncle Roy. You will be missed.

Dear Lianne and family,
I believe that tears can heal, that memories can comfort, and love lives on forever.
No words can describe the uncondtional love your Mom and Dad had for you and the children. It is sad that we never really know what we had in life until we don’t have it any more. Many memories were made during their square dance times with uncle Murray and auntie Dot. Visits to the cottage on Lake Simcoe were some of the best times. Remember the good times Lianne and treasure them always.

While our hearts are aching today over the loss of this truly exceptional and decent man, the memory of his warm smile, his gentle, unassuming, and genuine ways will stay with me forever.
Roy made such a positive and lasting impression from the time we first met, so many years ago. He was such an easy person to like and respect.
We may have lost a special friend and Masonic brother but never the example he set and the recollection of all the enjoyable times we had together.
