Rowland, Verna Mary Elizabeth
Passed away January 29, 2018 peacefully in Penetanguisine, after a 2 year residence at Georgian Manor.
Verna lived in the Lloydtown-Schomberg area for 90 years, much of which was spent in her home on Castlewood Avenue. She was very active in the community as a proud member of the United Church, the Horticultural Society and the Schomberg Agricultural Society. Verna was very gifted with her first love – flowers. She took pride in winning top honors for many years at the Fair and was very competitive at horticulture shows. Verna’s garden was a constant joy for her and was where she spent much of her time.
Verna will be greatly missed by her friends and family including her son Barry and daughter-in-law Barbara Rowland; her brother Royce and sister-in-law Norma Rowland, and their family; her grandchildren, Deanna & Christopher Price, Denise and Joe Lentine, and Erik and Diana Vares; her great grandchildren Marina, Sophia and Isabella Lentine, Alexander Price, and Veronika and Genevieve Vares.
In honour of one of Schomberg’s greatest elders, we will gather at the Town Hall in Schomberg on Friday February 9th from 3 pm to 6 pm to celebrate the life and memories of Verna Rowland. All are welcome. Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham. 905-936-3477. RodAbamsFuneralHome.com

Our sincere condolences to the Rowland family. Verna has been part of the Greer family for many, many years and will be missed by all….She was Grandma Verna to the kids…I’m not sure if they knew she was their real Grandma or not. She shared many events, pies, dances and good times with this family and will be deeply missed. Xoxox
