Peacefully at Good Samaritan Nursing Home Alliston on Tuesday August 22, 2017. Leona King (nee: O’Leary) in her 87th year, beloved wife of the late Joseph King. Loving mother of Joe, John (the late Paula), Mary King, Anne Macdonald (Paul), Margaret Phillips (Jim), and Charles. Dear grandmother of:
Catherine, Christine, Mark, Sheila, Joe, Connie, Angie, Michael, David, Jeanine, Matthew, and great grandmother of: Michael, Monica, Megan, Jesse, Lindsey, Emma, Alicia, Kayla, Jackson, Alexander, Liam Aydan, and Zoey. Remembered with love by her siblings: the late Anne Walsh, Mary Daley (the late Harold), Peggy McGuire (the late Bruce), and the late Campbell O’ Leary (Marion). Leona was a giant in the Faith…a powerful role model for us in our community. She worked tirelessly to ensure that Perpetual Adoration in our Parish would continue hour after hour…week after week…month after month. She took on a giant task with Marg Marin and others who gave their time to set up and fill those many hours per week. She helped to make our Parish what it is today…a place of solace and prayer.
