Fond memories of Mrs. Dubar when I was a child living a few doors down the street. My condolences to Janet, Poppy and my old friend Philip.

My condolences go out to Poppy, Phil and Janet as well as the rest of the Dubar and Phillips families. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
As a mother-in-law Ruth was many things to me, but what I most remember is the lesson she taught me one morning as we commuted to work together in my early years as a teacher. We were having a serious discussion about our roles as teachers and the systems that we found ourselves in and she turned to me and said, “Don’t ever forget Ross, that bullshit baffles brains.”
I remember this so well because I was surprised that Ruth spoke in that manner, but also because I have witnessed the truth in her words many times throughout my life.
Charles Truax says
Ruth was a quiet, thoughtful, and perceptive educator who blessed her students and colleagues with sharpness of mind and kindness unbounded. I was privileged to be one of those colleagues.
Simply put, her warmth and welcoming nature made this world a fine place to be.
Pauline says

Mrs. Dubar taught many of my friends and myself Latin and English at King City Secondary. She was a wonderful teacher who engaged her classes with more than material from the text. Grace, charm, and her own personal strength are her lasting memories to us all.

Aunt Ruth may be gone, but she is not forgotten. She lives on in joyous memories of family gatherings on Fern Rock (Stoney Lake), Oriole Parkway, Cummer Avenue, Lurgan Drive, and Normandale Crescent, where her grace and charm were ever-present. A wonderful lady in every sense of the word. Our thoughts and prayers are with Janet, Poppy, Philip, and the entire family.
