One of my last memories of Jean will be the visit to our house last summer. She was surprized and proud of the fact that she and Don “put up” so many jars of raspberry jam. Peewee sat on her lap constantly and she related how perfect he was suited to her needs. She seemed older but quite content, very proud of all of her children and grand kids. She spoke of some of the many changes that she saw during her lifetime, in particular; woman’s fuller range of choice compared to the 1950s. David and I send our sympathy to all the family.

Lynn and Larry Marshall says
Jean was a high energy person who lived on her own, doted on PeeWee, and was a good cook.
Although she endured plenty of protracted, miserable health conditions most of her older adult life, she was good-humoured, and continued to rally.
We admired her spirit, which we believe she conveyed to her three children who continue to convey it to their children and so on.
She was a wonderful example.

It is so sad to hear of Jean’s passing. I believe she may be the last of the Hammell’s school parents to pass away. She will have a great reunion in Heaven with all of our parents. May she rest in peace.

Jean impressed me from the get-go. Hard working , salt of the earth , work-ethic folk with no pretense whatsoever . She will be missed by many and for good reason. Sincere sympathy to sister Linda, Brother-in-law Don and all the family. Ken & Joy Trottier
