Gottenstrater: Vera (Strater)
It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of our Oma at the age of 88. Vera is predeceased by her husband Horst, and daughter Marlies. She leaves behind son Michael (Lydia), four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Vera struggled in the last year of her life with mental illness, and was only diagnosed with lung cancer shortly before her passing. She was best known for her enthusiastic and jovial laugh that truly will be missed, but not forgotten by those that knew her. As per Vera’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Donations in memory of Vera may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society (Box 1414, Barrie, L4M 5R4) or the Canadian Cancer Society (4 Checkley St., Ste. #103, Barrie, L4N 1W1).
