Ransom, William Wright “Bill”
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Wright Ransom on February 13th, 2009. At his bedside were his loving and beloved companion Helen Smith, and family, Sandra Shaw and grandson Alexander Shaw, all of whom will greatly miss his quiet and gentle ways. William was pre-deceased by wife Margaret, and son, Leonard. Also left to mourn are his cousin Vera and family and numerous friends. At Bill’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral but a memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21st, 2009, 2:00 pm at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936-3477. Contributions in Bill’s memory should be generously made to the Grove Park Home, to which we owe thanks for such tender and solicitous care over the last years of Bill’s life. Sweet William – Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Bill and his Dog King were gentle individuals and extremely well liked in the community. Bill taught my son several outdoor activities like a Grand Dad would. Bill was an avid Eurchre player and was always well recognized in the local Paper for his card playing skills including others he played with. He was a recognized pioneer in the community and will be very sadly missed.
