Young: Reginald Thomas “Tom”,
(Veteran WWII)
Peacefully at Southlake Health Newmarket, on March 31, 2025. Tom Young in his 100th year, beloved husband of the late Patricia Young (nee: Gagnon). Loving father of Julia (Paul) Mellor, and the late Tommy. Dear brother of the late Joan (the late Ken Brambell), and brother in law of the late Lorraine Bonney, and the late Robert Paul (Eve) Gagnon. Sadly missed by his nephew Kenny Brambell, and nieces Kathy Majors, Jessika Gagnon, and Real Gagnon. Forever in the hearts of his extended family and friends.
The family wish to thank Jacquie and all the staff and friends at Kingsway Place Aurora for their wonderful care and friendship over the years.
During Tom’s working career he served in World War II as an Airplane Mechanic, he worked at Robert Mitchell’s as a Tool and Die Maker in Montreal, and at John’s Manville at the Jeffrey Mine in Asbestos, Quebec. Tom involved himself into whichever community he lived in. Whether it be in Tecumseth Pines for 35 years, or prior to that in Asbestos for 25 years, he was always actively involved. His passions in life were many and included model railroading, stamp collecting, and formula one races. He loved to curl and bowl, and was an avid reader. He excelled in his woodshop where he could craft and make anything out of wood. But what brought him his greatest joy was being together with his family while at the Cottage in the Laurentian Mountains, or when camping with family. Tom was a true gentleman, he was modest, and he had a great smile. He will be greatly missed.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home Tottenham. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

I will always remember the happy times in Asbestos, at your cottage in the Laurentians, and your family’s vacation in Cape Breton, that I was invited to share.

I had the privilege of knowing Tom Young “Mr. Young” as I called him for over 60 years as our families lived close and his daughter and I were best friends growing up. .He was devoted to his family. Julia was the best daughter/nurse to her dad and she loved him dearly. She visited him every day and was only 10 minutes away if needed.. She has lots of memories to comfort her. Mr. Young was wonderful caring man and he will be missed be all who knew him. Cindy Day

So sorry to hear of the passing of our dear former neighbour Tom Young here in Tecumseth Pines. He and his wife Pat were the loveliest couple, and were very active in the social life here over many years. Tom remained in the home here for several years after Pat passed, living directly across the court from our house. We have missed him greatly. He was a fine gentleman, always smiling and friendly. My deepest condolences to his family.

Kingsway Place just wasn’t the same today. Many, including me will miss Tom.
He was a true gentleman, with a smile that could brighten any room, and he always had a positive outlook. It was clear how much love he shared with his daughter Jewels, who visited him every day, at the same table in the Bistro , offering him her unwavering care and joy. The bond they shared was truly special, and it’s heartwarming to know how deeply she touched his life.
Their daily visit will be missed by many.
