With great sadness, we announce the passing of Michael Kirk, age 72, on November 30, 2024. Michael was a devoted companion and friend, whose passion for life and dedication to his loved ones will be fondly remembered.
Michael is survived by his long-time partner of 35 years, Barbara Woodruff, and his stepdaughter, Nicole Da Costa (Woodruff), grandfather to Natalie Da Costa. He was a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew him, known for his generosity, humor, and deep love for his family.
A true enthusiast of classic cars, Michael’s pride and joy was his 1934 Ford Coupe, which he lovingly built and restored over the years. He was a proud and active member of the Aurora Classic Car Club, Alliston’s Recycled Teenagers as well as the Bradford’s Back Alley Cruisers. Where he shared his passion for classic cars and car shows with fellow enthusiasts. His contributions to the car community will be remembered by many.
In addition to his love for cars, he loved to take care of his property in Tottenham. His grass always looked perfect. If you brought a car onto the driveway that was dirty, it was cleaned before you left. Michael’s life was also marked by a quiet but unwavering support for those he cared about. His kindness and friendship touched countless lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Michaels’ life will be held at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477, on Wednesday December 4, 2024 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County or Parkinson’s Society would be appreciated. Online condolences or memories may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

I’m sorry to hear of Michael’s passing. Nice guy who I used to see weekly at the Cedar Kitchen with his friends at breakfast. We all shared the passion for cool cars. May he “cruise” in peace.
