Annette Baldwin (nee Jollimore)
April 15, 1952 – October 30, 2024
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Annette “Netty” Baldwin. Annette passed away at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, on October 30th, at the age of 72. Annette was a devoted wife to Dave (predeceased). Proud mother to David, Jeffrey (Lisa), Derek (Melanie) and Ashley. Loving Nanny to Travis, Layla, Avangeline, Jonathan and Carter. Caring sister to Frankie (predeceased), Wanda (Blair) and Pamela (Timothy). Compassionate daughter to Floyd and Laura Jollimore (both predeceased). Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Annette was the second of four children born to Floyd and Laura Jollimore. Growing up, Annette was a very shy, timid girl. She was as strait-laced as they come. She was well liked and excelled in school. In her early twenties she left the east coast and moved to Ontario, where she would soon meet, Dave, a handsome tire man from Newfoundland. Dave and Annette married in 1977 and had four children. They were married for 46 years, until Dave passed away in 2023. As a homemaker, wife and mother, Annette devoted her life to her family. Dave and Annette raised their family in Ontario for almost ten years, before moving the family to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in 1984. The family moved around quite a bit during the next several years, before eventually moving back to Ontario permanently in 1996, where Annette would call Caledon home for the next 28 years. Annette was a special lady. She was stubborn, opinionated, impatient, fearful and profanity was a part of her everyday vocabulary. She was a worrier and very superstitious. She was also incredibly loving, easy going, soft spoken and forgiving. No matter her quirks, her heart was always in the right place. Annette’s favorite colour was fluorescent. It didn’t matter if she was dressing up or down, you could see her coming from a mile away. She loved to wear big hats, costume jewelry and even developed an unexpected obsession with tattoos in her later years. She was afraid of her own shadow, but took great pleasure in scaring others and playing practical jokes. She loved spending time outdoors, especially during the summer months; she could fall asleep for hours out in the sun. She loved to chat; she would open up to anyone who would listen. She loved to spend money on knick-knacks; flea markets and garage sales were her go to places to splurge. She was a fan of country music; Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson being two of her favorite musicians. Annette enjoyed spending time with her family the most. She would take frequent trips to the east coast to be with her parents and sisters; sometimes staying for months at a time. She looked forward to Baldwin family gatherings and any celebration that included music and a dance floor. In 2013 Annette was diagnosed with cancer. Although cancer free, the late side effects of treatment and other health concerns began to take its toll in 2022. She was unable to do many of things she once enjoyed, but she still found joy in the little things. She was the happiest when her children and grandchildren were around. Annette was truly one of a kind; a beautiful lady who will be impossible to forget. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, sisters, in-laws and cherished friends. Annette, also known as Aunt Net or Netty, will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews. Annette’s family takes comfort in knowing she is resting peacefully with her love, Dave. She has been reunited with her parents, her brother and all the loved ones she has lost over the years. Annette’s children will be planning a celebration of life and will make details known to family and friends once a date is set.

The loss of a Mother is a very heartbreaking loss. Take comfort from the fact that she is no longer suffering and is in a better place now.
