Dear Maria & Family. I send you my deepest condolences on the sudden passing of Ross. We grew up in North York together. There was always something going on at our house with 9 kids living there & Ross enjoyed visiting. He knew each & every one of us in some way. He was always poking fun at us younger kids & joking around. When some of us moved to Mount Forest to get out of the city, Ross came up for visits. Once he came up in his red convertable Buick LaSabre. It was November & the first snowfall of the season. He took my brother & I for a long tour up & down the high school soccer field. He had summer tires on the car so it was quite easy to slide between the goal posts & as we did we all yelled, “Scores” I don’t imagine the school superintendent was happy with us the next moring. It’s in memories like this one that we can find peace & healing and begin to smile again. Rest well Ross. Thanks for the memories.
Nancy Stevens-Soroka says
May your wonderful memories of Ross bless and keep you. He was a great friend of my brother Glenn, who I know is truly saddened to hear of his passing. What a jolly fellow Ross was; always a joyous addition to the Stevens household when he visited. One can imagine him as a great family man, dad & grandfather.
A special hug to you Laurine.
I am truly sorry to hear of your loss.

To the Martyn’s…Marianne, Laurine, Lynda, Gerry & Tracey
and
To Maria, Natazia and Christina
A gift from our friendship with Laurine is that for many years we have celebrated and spent many “family” times with you all.
We were at Ross & Maria’s wedding as well as welcomed the births of both Natazia and Christina.
And more recently, we all celebrated the birth of their granddaughter Nathalia
Ross was always a welcoming, down to earth, engaging guy.
We were always readily welcomed into his home.
Never pretentious…whatever he had others were welcome to.
His love of family was strong and clear.
A dedicated family man, husband, father and grandfather.
He has left many warm memories and a great legacy.
Heartfelt condolences to you all,
Ron, Donna and Jennifer Richardson

I’m so sorry to hear of Ross’s passing. As I’m sure of my entire family will be. We lived up on Epsom Downs Drive when we were kids, went to the same schools & Ross hung out at our house alot. Even in later years he’d venture up to Mount Forest occasionally to hang out with brother Glenn & as usual I was a tag along. Seems a number of us migrated out of the city to the small town. It was always a great time hanging out with Ross! His laugh and his bad/ naughty side is making me laugh as I type this! Although we did lose touch with each other The memories flood back like yesterday. He will never be forgotten. We will speak fondly of him for years and most likely be laughing about the good times we spent in our youth. It’s heartwarming to read that Ross was such a wonderful parent, husband and grandparent. May you find comfort in your memories and the love Ross most definitely gave to all of you. Take care of each other. Hugs!
Sincerely Jane

Dear Natazia, Christina and Maria, I am so sorry for your sudden loss. Taz and Christina: your dad was an amazing guy. It was good times at Taz’s house and always a lot of laughs with Ross. The hospitality was incredible at your place growing up. Thanks for putting up with us kids. The Martyn house certainly won’t be the same without the patriarch around. Ross always had something in the works in his garage similar to my own family. He was a hard working guy who made sure his family was provided for and knew they were loved. In recent years, I watched him nurture his grand daughter Thal. I’m so sorry he won’t get to see her grow up. My condolences to his family and friends. Remember the fun times.
Love Amanda
