Gary Albert Titus, born in 1945 in Toronto, passed away peacefully at Matthews House Hospice Alliston, on December 24, 2023, at the age of 78. Gary is survived by his beloved wife Antoinette, loving children Andrew (Jennifer) and Julie (Phil), grandchildren Hannah, Jonathan, Jeffery and Cailey, and younger brother Paul (Debbie).
After retiring from his career as an accountant, Gary and Toni moved from their long-established home on Stoney Creek Dr. in Scarborough to a retirement community in Alliston, Ontario (Briar Hill). Here, he established wonderful friendships with neighbours and thoroughly enjoyed playing Euchre and Wizard at the community centre and helping neighbours in any way he was able.
Unfortunately, community involvement became more difficult in the last several years as Gary dedicated his time to caring for his wife of 53 years who continues to suffer from advanced Parkinson’s disease.
Dad will always remain in our hearts and souls. He will be forever remembered as an unwavering supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs (GO LEAFS GO), a lover of cat naps, poker playing with the family at gatherings and, of course, food. Loved ones regard him as a hard-working, strong, respected and kind-hearted person – one not requiring material possessions, only desired time with friends and family.
We will miss you terribly, but we are happy to know you are free of pain and have joined your parents, sister, and other deceased friends and family in heaven. We will miss you until we meet again.
Gary’s family would like to sincerely thank everyone who touched his life and enriched it in anyway.
Private cremation has taken place and, as per family wishes, no formal memorial services will be hosted at this present time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gary’s memory to Matthews House Hospice, Cancer Society, or Parkinson’s Research.
Online condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.
