Passed away peacefully at the Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Helmut was born on May 14, 1938, in Stellberg, Germany. He immigrated to Canada in 1954. Beloved husband of Linda Horas (nee: Wilson) for 58 years. Dear father of Brian (Wendy nee: Sheppard). Proud
and special Opa of Sydney (Sean Maule) and Mitchell (Adriana Findlay). Sadly missed by his siblings Emma Schmidt, Lina Goller, Anton (Brigitte) and Maria Gross and his sister-in-laws Irmgard (Karl deceased) Horas and Sue (Allan deceased) Wilson. Predeceased by his parents Maria and Markus Horas, and siblings Margarete, Josef, Karl, Hermann, Ludwig, Adolf and their spouses. Helmut will be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends in Canada and Germany. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905 936 3477, from 10:00am – 12:00 p.m, followed by the Funeral Service at 12 p.m. A reception will follow at Rod Abrams Funeral Home Cliffside Hall.
